Fellow Arrowmen,
As the summer season comes to an end, we
must pause and look back at all of the great
accomplishments that we have attained thus far. To the
membership of our lodge whom have participated in the
events this summer, I commend you on your hard work and
dedication. Our success would not have been as great if
we didn’t have you commitment of cheerful service.
The first event of the season, Conclave,
Onondaga Lodge once again Kicked But!! Not only did we
have the most amount of arrowmen, per capita, but we
competed and won both ceremony competitions,! We also had
arrowmen participate in
every
conclave sponsored event, including the dance and drum
competition.. My congratulations goes out to all of our
members who attended this year’s conclave and I hope to
see you at next year’s event held at Camp Mountaineer in
Morgantown.
Secondly, as tragedy struck our lodge with
the loss of a great arrowman and friend, Onondaga Lodge
stepped up to the plate and hosted the best Pow-wow that
this area is likely to see. Words can not express the
amount of dedication and stamina that it took to make our
dream of a Pow-wow a reality and a success. My sincerest
thanks and congratulations goes out to all those arrowmen
who helped make this event a success, and I look forward
to next year.
In closing, to all those arrowmen who
haven’t been active in the lodge, you should consider
taking advantage of the wonderful opportunities that the
Order of the Arrow has to offer. I encourage you to come
to some of our events, and I hope to see you there!
In Cheerful Service,
Zach Thuring
Onondaga Lodge #36 Chief
