Spring Update - May 25, 2008

First off, I apologize for not updating in a while. Sometimes, spare time is hard to come by. Fortunately, summer is right around the corner, and there will be plenty of time for many great events. To start off, Conclave 2008 will be taking place on the 30th and 31st of May and the 1st of June. It will be in Ona, WV at Camp Arrowhead, hosted by Thal-Coo-Zyo Lodge. Although the ride down will be long, there will be lots of great training and fun. If you plan on attending, register at www.conclave.oa-c4a.org .

Also, summer camp is approaching rapidly. We will be coming around to conduct unit elections. Be prepared to vote on the worthy people in your troop. If you hadn't heard already, the Pow-Wow for this year has been canceled due to the rising price of fuel. Lastly, the new Papoukewis Chapter flaps are in!! They are available for purchase for $3 each.

New Year, New Events - January 5, 2008

Welcome to 2008, the new year in the OA. We have many great things to look forward to this year. ArrowCorps5 happens to be one of those things. For those of you who haven't been active for a while, are new, or want to try something different, 2008 is great time to get involved with the lodge. To start things off, our first chapter meeting will be on Tuesday, January 8th 2008. We will have the meeting the same time and place as always. 6:30 P.M. and Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville, Ohio.

The next event happens to be the first lodge event. The AIA Weekend at Sandscrest in Wheeling will be the weekend of the 11th-13th! There will be lots of great training there as well as Dance Team and Ceremonies Team practices. If you want to get into some AIA stuff or just want some good training, the AIA Weekend is a great way to start off this new year. Ben and I look forward to leading Papoukewis Chapter through yet another great year. Papoukewis Rocks!!

The End Is Near - November 20, 2007

As 2007 enters its last months, the end is near for another successful year within our lodge and chapter. It is almost time for the Winter Banquet where we will look back and reflect upon a good year of scouting in the OA. Our chapter has done very well this year and Ben and I are happy to serve you once again as chapter officers. We will see you at December's meeting which is a week earlier than normal. If you can't make it to the meeting then we hope to see you at the Winter Banquet on December 16th in Glen Dale. Visit the Lodge site now to register!

The End Of Summer - August 21, 2007

Brothers, the end of summer break is here. We can now look back on a great summer for the lodge. The 3rd Annual Clyde Willis Memorial Pow-Wow was a big success. Everyone who was involved and helped out deserves a pat on the back. We are looking forward to another sucessful Pow-Wow next summer. The Summer Ordeal was a great success as well. Forty of the Ordeal candidates tapped out at Summer Camp passed the Ordeal and are now members of our Lodge, with a large amount of them belonging to Papoukewis Chapter.

With the productive summer of 2007 over, we will now resume Chapter Meetings. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, the 21st of August. We will begin discussing and looking forward to our future events such as Fall Fellowship, various ceremonies, and the Winter Banquet.

Ordeal Done, Time For Summer Fun - June 4, 2007

The Spring Ordeal recently occurred at Fort Steuben Scout Reservation at the beginning of June. Six youth were inducted as Ordeal members into our lodge. And most of these boys now belong to Papoukewis Chapter. Be sure and congratulate our new members when you see them, and welcome them into the greatest chapter!!

With the Ordeal out of the way the 3rd Annual Clyde Willis Memorial Pow-Wow is just around the corner. It will take place on June 9th and 10th. Be sure and come out to the Harrison County fairgrounds to help set up and work the Pow-Wow. We have fun every year and it continues to be an awesome event.

Papoukewis Chapter meetings have ended for the summer. We will resume normal meetings in a few months. During break be sure and check your email and the site for updates on summer happenings.
